Hi! My name is Nicol Valentin!

I’m a homeschooling mom of 10, and a grandma to 2. Being around kids for the past 25 years has taught me a few things. I’ve learned just how awesome kids can be, for one. Each child is unique and genuine, and they all have imaginations that can soar to fantastic places. The cool thing is all that imagining is infectious. It certainly rubbed off on me, how else do you think I could have learned to come up with stories?

Let’s make literature fun for your kids

If you’re a homeschool mom like me or just a parent who wants to amp up your child’s imagination and help them become great writers, let me offer you some help. On my site you can find

articles on teaching styles

information on exceptional books

biographies of famous  children’s authors

Need help getting your child to write? I can help you with that too

Sometimes kids just need a little help getting started. On my site you’ll find things geared to helping and encouraging your reluctant writers and readers. Look for lessons on

how to develop great vocabulary

exercises to spark story ideas

tips to writing a captivating story

how to add details that make writing more vivid

and lots more!

I’ll be posting story starters featuring some of my favorite friends to help kick start stalled creativity. To sweeten the deal, kids will be able to send in their writing and have it featured on my site. Be on the lookout for additional prizes as well.

Join me on my own writing journey

Last, but not least, I hope you’ll join me on my own writing adventures. I’d love to share with you inside information about my process and my characters. Some of them will be popping in for interviews and exposés.

Did you notice that adorable winged pig on the top of the page? His name is Wooster, and there’s an enchanting story about how he got those wings that you can download for free while you’re here. You’ll also be sure to never miss a post when you sign up.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I know you and your children will love it here.
